1959Big Bob Rouleau scored 16 of Sacred Heart’s 18 fourth period points as the unbeaten Beavers were able to pull out a 72-67 overtime win over a scrappy Cumberland quintet in a Class B thriller. Rouleau took scoring honors with 32 points, Leo Heroux tallied 18 and Paul Whitaker added 10. 6-foot-3 Ray Holcombe led the Clippers with 18 points, Jim Poli netted 15, Ed Stenovitch, whose onehander from the side with two seconds remaining in regulation sent the game into an extra session, caged 14 and rugged Johnny Wudyka chipped in with 10.

1969Mike Reeder pumped in 10 straight points to give his team a 56-48 edge at halftime en route to a game-high 33 points as the improving Buckets defeated Thomas’ All-Stars 77-61 in a Pawtucket YMCA Senior Basketball League tilt. Frank O’Dowd paced the losers with 20 points. In other league play, Buster Wall fired in 35 points to lead Terry’s All-Stars to a 104-61 romp over Doucette’s All-Stars.

1979Wayne Bessette canned 25 points on 12 of 20 from the floor as coach Roger Berard’s Central Falls Warriors edged Mount St. Charles 71-66 in double overtime. Mike Burch added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Alex Perez chipped in with 11 points and 10 caroms for CF. The primary culprits for the Mounties were Buz Boisvert, who tallied a game-high 29 points, and Gary St. Amant who followed with 24.
