Miranda, Philippe star in home win

LINCOLN — After losing their first two games of 2016, the Davies Tech girls basketball team has bounced back with a pair of Division III victories.

The Patriots, who snuck past Central Falls on Tuesday, raced out to a 21-point lead at halftime and secured a 49-27 victory over visiting Classical behind the play of forward Gina Miranda and Thalia Philippe.

Miranda had 13 points and 19 rebounds, while Philippe produced the biggest game of her young career with 13 points, 19 rebounds and six blocked shots.

Davies (6-3 Division III) has a chance to go on a winning streak with Hope and winless Masters on the schedule next week.
