Police nab DUI suspect out their door
WARWICK (AP) — A 41-year-old Rhode Island man has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk in the Warwick police station parking lot.
Richard Fisher was arrested and charged Sunday with driving under the influence. Police say his blood-alcohol content was five times the legal limit to drive.
Officer John Curley noticed an unfamiliar vehicle parked in the lot as he was leaving the station to get paperwork. The lot behind the station is clearly marked with signs stating that it was for police only.
Curley walked over to the vehicle and found Fisher, who appeared to be intoxicated. Fisher then allegedly failed every field sobriety test Curley administered.
He is due in court in March.
