Jones, Wilson lead Saints to home win

-

PAWTUCKET — The St. Raphael boys basketball team knew they had a showdown with first- place Bishop Hendricken on Friday, but first the Saints had to take care of business Wednesday night against rebuilding Barrington.

The Saints’ usual suspects, junior Trevante Jones and guard Peter Wilson, made sure they would head to Hendricken with a six-game winning streak. Jones scored a game-high 19 points and Wilson added 17, including three 3-pointers, in a 61-37 Division I victory.

St. Raphael (10-2 Division I) only has four regular-season games left starting with the trip to Warwick Friday to face Justin Mazzulla, Preston Santos, Trevor Lawton and the one-loss Hawks.

“They have some shooters and they have some size, so that have a multitude of guys we have to try and shut down,” St. Raphael coach Tom Sorrentine said.
