Lions win “rock fight”

LINCOLN — After an ugly home loss to first-place Westerly, the Lincoln boys bas- ketball team has found their identity. Jermaine Perez, Nick Jucket and Tommy Beauchemin all scored in double figures to lead the Lions to a 43-37 victory over East Greenwich Wednesday night in Division II.

“It was a rock fight the whole night,” Lincoln coach Kent Crooks said. “We did a great job on their big guy and this team really plays for each other. Kids like Nathan Fay came in and gave us minutes and Matt Oakley helped. It was a total team win.”

Lincoln (8-5 Division II) trailed by two points at halftime. The Lions will be back in action Friday night against winless North Smithfield.
