WOONSOCKET – Mount St. Charles doubled its pleasure – and padded its Division II/Suburban B record – with respective 7-0 blowouts of Ponaganset and Tolman on Wednesday afternoon.

In a completion of a suspended match due to rain against the Chieftains, the singles foursome of Matt Dubois, Jake Lawrence, Paul Resende and senior co-captain Mitch McCoy sustained only six games losses between then en route to the triumph.

That same contingent bettered that mark against the Tigers, as it dropped only four games in straight-set verdicts during the regularlys­cheduled match.

The Mounties improved to 11-2 with the victories.

Saints beaten by PCD

PAWTUCKET – Despite a pair of superb outings by its Nos. 2 and 3 singles players, St. Raphael Academy suffered a 5-2 Division II/Suburban crossover loss to PCD on Wednesday.

Jiaqi Yang outlasted Max Liebhauser, 6-7 (6), 6-4, 108 (super-tiebreaker) at the second spot, while Ben Dube racked up a 6-3, 6-1 verdict over Griffen Leonard, a senior who just happened to captain the PCD/ SRA/ Wheeler Co- op ice hockey squad this past winter.

The Knights swept the doubles’ segment to move to 6-1, while the Saints fell to 5-4.

Barrie earns Shea’s point

PAWTUCKET – Shea High standout Narisu Barrie manufactur­ed a terrific 7-5, 6-3 victory over John Glendennin­g at the top singles slot, but Exeter/West Greenwich reigned in the other six matches in a 6-1 Division II/Suburban crossover decision at Oak Hill’s Tom Kenny Courts on Wednesday.
