Tigers sweep Wizards

PAWTUCKET — The Tolman volleyball team rebounded from a defeat to East Greenwich with a 25-13, 25-17, 25-19 Division II victory over visiting West Warwick Wednesday evening.

Senior outside hitter Josh Goncalves led the way with 13 kills, but he received plenty of help from his fellow hitters. Brandson Mesquita had nine kills and four digs and junior Connor Duhamel added six.

“I wanted to see us be more aggressive at the net offensively and defensively,” Tolman coach Neil Nachbar said. “Taking more aggressive swings, but also being more aware of what angles are open and which aren’t. I also wanted us to be smarter at the net when they were hitting.”

Tolman (9-3 Division II), which also received 30 assists from sophomore setter Enrique Aldan, travels to Classical Monday.
