Novans forfeit pair of matches

BLACKSTONE – Because Woonsocket High failed to produce four linksters for its Northern Division clash with Smithfield and Ponaganset on Wednesday, it had to forfeit both matches.

That left the Sentinels with a pair of easy triumphs over the Villa Novans and Chieftains (173-233) at New England Country Club.

SHS stalwart Brian Goodwin claimed medalist honor with a five-over 40, while teammate Spencer Santucci fell one shy with a 41.

Aidan Quinn paced Ponaganset with a teambest 54, while Woonsocket’s Dylan Klein fired the same score.

The Novans fell to 0-12 on the campaign.
