Broncos cruise past Northmen

NORTH SMITHFIELD — North Smithfield junior Ryan Deslauriers earned medalist honors Thursday at Countryview after carding a 1-over 36, but Burrillville came away with a 166-193 Northern Division triumph.

Burrillville (9-3 Northern Division) moved a step closer toward hosting the division playoff match thanks to a 39 from sophomore Brendan Hanaway and a 43 from freshman Noel Teter. Sam Hayden and Chris Messier both shot a 43.

North Smithfield (1-6 Northern Division) begins a busy final two weeks of the season with a match against Mount St. Charles at Countryview Monday.

Lions crush Chieftains

LINCOLN — Sophomore Tim Cullen led a balanced effort with a 5-over 41 in Lincoln’s 177-219 Northern Division victory over Ponaganset Thursday at Kirkbrae. Nathan Kumar and Brett Bessette each shot a 45.

Lincoln (6-5-1 Northern Division) is back in action Tuesday at Glocester Country Club against division-leading Smithfield and North Smithfield.

Quakers top Raiders

PAWTUCKET Reigning state champion Moses Brown ended Shea’s season with a 153-261 West Division victory Thursday at Pawtucket Country Club.
