Uxbridge drug raid nets 4 arrests
UXBRIDGE — Three men and a woman from Uxbridge and Douglas were arrested Wednesday on drug trafficking and gun charges, police said.
The arrests were made after search warrants were executed simultaneously at 502 Douglas St. in Uxbridge, and 4 North St. in Douglas. The search warrants were the culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Douglas and Uxbridge Police Departments. Those departments were assisted by the Blackstone Valley Drug Task Force, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and agents from the Worcester DEA Tactical Diversion Squad.
According to police, the search warrants led to the seizure of an assault rifle, a handgun, more than 300 grams of cocaine, more than 300 pounds of marijuana and several thousand dollars. Three vehicles were also seized. Arrested were:
Adam Lewis, 20, of 502 Douglas St., Uxbridge, charged with trafficking in a Class B substance more than 200 grams (cocaine); possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance (marijuana); conspiracy to violate drug laws; four counts of possession of a large capacity firearm; two counts of possession of ammunition without an FID card; and two counts of improper storage of a large capacity firearm.
Nicholas Deschene, 22, of 4 North St., Douglas, charged with trafficking in a Class B substance more than 200 grams (cocaine); possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance (marijuana); conspiracy to violate drug laws; two counts of possession of a large capacity firearm; possession of ammunition without an FID card; and improper storage of a large capacity firearm.
Sydney Hurteau, 18, of 4 North St., Douglas, charged with trafficking in a Class B substance more than 200 grams (cocaine); possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance (marijuana); two counts of possession of a large capacity firearm; possession of ammunition without an FID card; and unlawful storage of a large capacity firearm.

All four were held without bail pending arraignments today in Uxbridge District Court, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.
Clerk Magistrate John F. Kennedy ordered the defendants held without bail after Assistant District Attorney Krista Wallace filed a motion for a dangerousness hearing. A judge will consider that motion at the defendants’ arraignment today.
“These arrests are the result of great teamwork involving state, local and federal law enforcement agencies,” Early said.
