1961 John Court­ney fired a no-hit­ter, struck out 14, walked three and helped his own cause with a solo home run to pace Carter Rice to a 4-0 white­wash over the Fra­ter­nal Or­der of Po­lice in a Dar­ling­ton Amer­i­can Lit­tle League en­counter. Ed­die Alker ripped a two-run dou­ble and Kevin Galvin chipped in with a sin­gle to ac­count for the vic­tor’s other hits. Pitch­ers Dick McLaugh­lin, Gary Con­nors and Joe Scallin gave up 11 walks be­tween them while al­low­ing only three hits for FOP.

1971 Se­nior Bob Palagi blasted a long home run with one out in the bot­tom of the 11th in­ning to give Tol­man a 3-2 tri­umph over Woonsocket in a non-league marathon at the McCoy Sta­dium An­nex. John Noonan went the first eight in­nings yield­ing only a Tom Zielin­ski one-out sin­gle in the bot­tom of the sixth, fanned nine and walked 11 with Phil Ry­nasiewicz gain­ing the win with three hit­less frames. Palagi fin­ished with three hits and Bill Britt and Bob Messier chipped in with a dou­ble and sin­gle apiece to pace the Tigers’ 10-hit at­tack.

1991 Ni­cole Le­houl­lier al­lowed just six hits and aided her own cause with two safeties, in­clud­ing a fourth in­ning RBI triple, as Lin­coln turned back one of its clos­est ri­vals, South Kingstown, 3-0, to up its Class B-One record to 12-2. Pam Hall, who is bat­ting over .400 this sea­son, added a run-scor­ing sin­gle in the first in­ning plat­ing Kia Malouin. In Class C slow pitch ac­tion, Mirsa Vasquez drilled four hits, in­clud­ing two cir­cuit clouts and eight RBI, Sandy Paiva laced three hits and Michelle Raw­son, Bar­bara Wood and Erin Corrigan each had two hits to pace Cen­tral Falls to an 18-3 rout of Mt. Pleas­ant.
