Newport to review rental regulations

NEWPORT (AP) — Newport plans to review a list of recommendations for short-term rental programs issued by a task force that studied the city’s housing market.

The Newport Daily News reports the Short Term Rentals Investigatory Group was formed in June to study platforms like Airbnb and HomeAway. According to the group, “habitual infringement on existing ordinances” has disrupted the Newport’s local housing market.
