Po­lice seek­ing Twin River purse thief

LIN­COLN – It is the eye in the sky, look­ing at you.

A sur­veil­lance cam­era at Twin River Casino on the day af­ter Thanks­giv­ing caught a bird’s-eye glimpse of a man who al­legedly snatched a purse off of a nearby chair – and im­ages re­leased by the Lin­coln Po­lice De­part­ment on Thurs­day show the man star­ing right back at the cam­era.

Lin­coln Po­lice are seek­ing the pub­lic’s help in iden­ti­fy­ing the lar­ceny sus­pect. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the re­ported lar­ceny oc­curred in the early morn­ing hours of Fri­day, Nov. 23. Around 5:30 that morn­ing, a yet-to-be-iden­ti­fied black man was al­legedly seen tak­ing a purse off the chair of an­other pa­tron.

Video sur­veil­lance from the casino shows the man tak­ing the pocket book into a nearby bath­room, po­lice said. The purse was later re­cov­ered but was miss­ing more than $1,500 in cash and casino vouch­ers.

Lin­coln po­lice are seek­ing this sus­pect, cap­tured on sur­veil­lance cam­era, in con­nec­tion with the theft of ap­prox­i­mately $1,500 in cash and vouch­ers from the purse of a pa­tron at Twin River Casino early on the morn­ing of Fri­day, Nov. 23.
