LINCOLN – Lincoln Public Library has announced upcoming activities:

Lego Club

Kids ages 3 and older can join the maker movement every other Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Lincoln Public Library. The children’s program room will be open on March 2, 16 and 30 for kids who love to build, so come in and make what you like. Just bring your imaginatio­n, and the library will supply the Legos. Saturday Crafts

Young crafters ages 4 and older are invited to the Lincoln Public Library to create fun crafts every other Saturday at 11 a.m. On March 9, participan­ts will be making twirling rainbows with pots of gold. On March 23, kids can get prepared for spring by creating cherry blossom trees using constructi­on paper, tissue paper, and toilet paper rolls. Space is limited and online registrati­on is required. Art Club for Kids Feeling creative? Kids ages 8 and older can sign up monthly to make art projects to take home and to decorate the library. The next gathering is planned for March 6 at 6 p.m., to draw leprechaun­s to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. After completing sketches, add color to complete the little bearded men. Junior Book Club celebrates 2019 R.I. Children’s Book Award winner This year, the Lincoln Public Library has been focusing on the Rhode Island Children’s Book Award (RICBA) nominees for its Junior Book Club. Members have been exploring these great titles and chose one of them to read each month since the nominees were announced. Kids have shared their favorite reads by posting book reviews to the library’s blog. Other activities have included creating word clouds, trading cards, and online avatars of favorite characters. The winner will be announced early in the month, and will be celebrated at the next meeting on March 11 at 6 p.m. New members who have been reading the nominees are welcome to join to play some games focusing on the characters, illustrati­ons, and settings in the books the club has read. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

with fun and games

This fun-filled, multi-media event for kids ages 6 and older will take place on March 12 at 6 p.m. The program will start off with a “Roll a Leprechaun” activity; allowing kids to add parts to their little guys as they roll dice. Next, watch a video that explains the simple steps in drawing a Celtic knot, and kids will then draw their own. Finally, participan­ts will make a pot of gold slime. Daisy returns to read with kids Children ages 6 and older are invited to come in and read to a special guest at the library on March 18. Daisy is a certified therapy dog, soft and sweet, who loves to listen to children read. She and her owner Arlene Atkins have completed training with D.J. Profession­al Pet Assisted Therapy Program, and they are excited about this event. This is a fun and educationa­l program designed to help kids practice early literacy skills with a specially trained K-9 friend. On- line registrati­on is required. Children’s Stories on Screen Families are invited to this new monthly program with stories on the large wall-mounted television screen. Each month, a playlist focusing on a particular author or theme will be chosen. The stories will play and repeat so viewers can come in and watch at any time while the program is running. The next viewing will take place on March 2 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the children’s program room. No registrati­on is required; just drop in and get comfy in front of the big screen.

Family movie March 27 Kids and adults are invited to come in and watch a fun flick on March 27 at 6 p.m. This popular film features two characters who take on a special technologi­cal task and encounter several challenges along the way. Viewers of all ages will enjoy this action- packed adventure. No registrati­on is required. Simply drop in and get comfortabl­e in the children’s program room. (Rated PG)
