Police probe fatal Lowell shooting

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — A 30-year-old man has been shot and killed in Lowell.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan says the shooting happened around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday and the victim died after he was taken to the hospital.

The Lowell Sun reports the victim’s family and friends identified him Sunday as James Iem.

Tony Iem told the paper his brother was the second oldest of six siblings and had two young sons of his own. Tony Iem said his older brother had been visiting a friend with one of his sons Saturday when he was shot outside his parked car.
