1968 Dave Denelle and Glenn Lampinski combined for 38

points as the league-leading Darlington Plains downed Ten Mile 50-38 in a YMCA Youth Basketball League tilt. Lampinski caged a game-high 20 points and Denelle fired in 18 as the Plains posted its ninth victory without a loss. In other action, Rick Chadwick netted 25 points in adding to his individual scoring lead as St. Martin’s routed Woodlawn Baptist 50-30.

1988 Lincoln’s seven-foot center Jim Dickinson poured in 23

points, pulled down eight rebounds and blocked five shots in a solid performanc­e to pace Lincoln to a 62-48 win over Warwick Vets to remain very much in contention for at least a share of the Class B-One title. Jeff Dunn contribute­d 12 points and eight caroms, Darren Lee, normally the Lions’ best outside shooter, turned playmaker and dished out seven assists and Paul Dalpe added nine points. Lincoln has a 13-3 league mark and is one game behind Cranston East who they visit next week in the regular-season finale for both quintets.

emy’s Robert Griffin are battling neck-and-neck for the Times area schoolboy scoring crown with Anderson averaging 26.7 points per game and Griffin close behind with a 26.2 mark. Rounding out the top five point-getters are Akbar Abdullah of Davies (21.9 ppg), Shea’s Pete Silva (21.9) and in fifth place with 21.6 ppg is Rohan Russell of Davies. Russell is the leader in three-point field goals with 77, Silva has the single-game scoring high of 48 points and Justin Strothoff of Lincoln is the pacesetter in free throw accuracy at 82.6% (57-of-69).
