Rachael Mongeau – Running St. Raphael Academy

It’s been nearly three decades since a Blackstone Valley girl won the cross country state title, but St. Raphael junior Rachael Mongeau came close Saturday. The Spumoni’s Italian Seafood Restaurant Times Athlete of the Week finished third in an impressive time of 18 minutes, 31.03 seconds. The winner, La Salle’s Kaylie Armitage, finished in a time of 18:24. Mongeau will toe the starting line again Saturday at New Englands at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn.
