MILLVILLE LIBRARY BOOSTERS HONORED
The Friends of the Millville Free Public Library has won a $500 Donna Forand award from the Massachusetts Friends of Libraries for one of the most creative library fund-raising projects in the state of Massachusetts. The project involved flocking friends and neighbors with a pink flamingo flock and raised over $1,000 for the library. The award was given at the “Friends Sharing with Friends” MFOL Conference on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Boston Public Library Egleston Square Branch was the only other recipient and represented larger libraries. Judy Monroe, the treasurer of the Millville Friends of the Library, accepted the award for the Friends. Pictured, Judy Monroe accepts the Donna Forand Award from MFOL President Alice Welch.
