The company is making a bigger push on the digital front.

Ralph Lauren Corp. has named Alice Delahunt to the newly created role of chief digital officer.

According to the company, Delahunt will become part of the company’s executive leadership team in April, reporting directly to chief executive officer Patrice Louvet. In her new role, Delahunt will be responsible for elevating the firm’s global digital platforms, as well as enhancing the digital experience for consumers across all channels to drive customer acquisition, retention, value and revenue.

Delahunt was most recently at Burberry, where she was director of digital marketing and led digital innovation on social media platforms globally.

Louvet said, “We have to meet consumers where they are, which is increasingly online, and digital expansion is one critical way we will drive new growth for our iconic business and brand.”

Louvet added that the company is “moving urgently to expand our digital presence all over the world and bringing in the right senior talent to help us deliver.”

Other moves on that front include several promotions and additions to the staff. Laura Porco was named senior vice president, e-commerce for Ralph Lauren North America. She formerly ran e-commerce for the company’s Club Monaco brand. Before joining the company, Porco was a 12-year veteran at Amazon where she led the launch of Kindle

Books and Myhabit.com. Galen Hardy will join the company from Zappos.com, where he oversaw apparel merchandising. In his new role, Hardy will become senior vice president of Club Monaco’s e-commerce and business operations. And Valeria Juarez will take on the role of senior vice president, e-commerce, international. Before that she was senior vice president for e-commerce overseeing the EMEA region since 2016. Before joining Ralph Lauren, Juarez held various senior positions at Amazon U.K. and at Diageo.

Further supporting the digital expansion, Janet Sherlock joined the company in August as chief information officer.

She held the same role at Carter’s, where she was before joining Ralph Lauren. In addition, Cyrus “Cy” Fenton is slated to the company as senior vice president, IT security and infrastructure. He was previously at Books-A-Million Inc., where he led the omnichannel digital business. Fenton will become part of Sherlock’s team.

Louvet joined the company in July from Procter & Gamble. In addition to the push on the digital front, his top goals include building the company’s Chinese business, evolving the product and growing its international presence.

Ralph Lauren Corp., still in turnaround mode, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
