Carrefour SA has named Amélie Oudéa-Castéra executive director of e-commerce, data and digital transformation, effective Nov. 19. She will sit on the executive committee of the French retailer, which has stepped up its digital transformation since Alexandre Bompard took over as chief executive officer last year.
Oudéa-Castéra joins Carrefour from French insurance giant Axa, where she spent 10 years, most recently holding the title of chief marketing and digital officer. She will be charged with accelerating Carrefour's e-commerce development, among other initiatives.
The executive had been named to Carrefour's board of directors in June 2018 and will be stepping down from that position, the company said in a statement.

Inc., earlier this year linked up with Google to tackle the French grocery market, agreeing to develop new distribution models with the Internet giant, marking a key development in the retail industry's conversion to online commerce. — JOELLE DIDERICH
