- BY LISA LOCKWOOD

Liz Fraser has been named president of Lafayette 148, a new post. She will be responsible for global sales and marketing, as well as design and merchandising, for apparel and accessories.

Fraser joined Lafayette 148 earlier this year as a strategic business adviser. She will report to Deirdre Quinn, cofounder and chief executive officer.

Earlier, Fraser had been ceo of Anne Klein, prior to which she was president of Marc by Marc Jacobs, where she was an executive member of the launch team that built the business into a multichannel, multicategory global lifestyle brand with more than $1 billion in retail sales.

148 comes at a time of rapid global expansion for the brand, which has experienced double- digit sales growth over the last several years across its wholesale, direct and retail channels. With four store openings this year, Lafayette 148 operates 21 freestanding boutiques in the U. S. and Asia, with additional locations slated to open next year. Fraser is expected to play a key role as the company continues to evolve into a multicategory lifestyle brand.

“It's an incredibly exciting time for us,” said Quinn. “In 2018 alone, we've built a state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, launched e-commerce in China on the Tmall Luxury Pavilion and undergone a full-scale creative transformation, including the launch of our new digital flagship. As the demands of my role have expanded, I've been searching for a full-time strategic partner to join me in the development of our place in this industry and the world at large while driving vision, strategy and providing day-to-day leadership.”

Quinn added, “Liz and I grew up in the industry together, and I've long admired her leadership style, business savvy and professional temperament. She's become a critical partner to me in her role as strategic adviser, and I couldn't be more excited about our future together.”

Earlier she had been chief executive officer of Anne Klein and president of Marc by Marc Jacobs.
