Outdoor Voices is beefing up its management team.

The buzzy activewear retailer today will bring Pam Catlett on board as president and chief operating officer. The role of president has been vacant since 2017.

Catlett served most recently as chief brand and strategy officer for Clear, a biometrics scanning technology business used for airport security. Before that, she was with Under Armour as senior vice president and group general manager for the company's $1 billion women's and youth apparel, footwear and accessories categories. She also spent 13 years with Nike as a vice president and general manager of the women's training and amplify category for two years and vice president of investor relations for 11 years.

At Outdoor Voices, Catlett will work with founder and chief executive officer Tyler Haney to spearhead the operational growth of the nearly five-year-old, Austin, Tex.based company. “Pam is the partner I've been searching for,” said Haney. “There's no question that her tenured experience with some of the world's largest brands will be of tremendous value to us as we grow and scale Outdoor Voices.”

“I am excited and inspired to be joining a company that I believe is innovative, disruptive and the future of the athleticwear market,” said Catlett. “When I met Ty, I was struck by her creativity, her smarts and how she has built this company. Her vision drew me in and I can't wait to help her realize it.”

Haney, 30, created Outdoor Voices in 2014 to offer women an alternative to the testosterone-charged messages of many major activewear brands. The company, which now offers men's wear as well, is primarily an online business but has nine stores around the U.S. and recently got picked up by Nordstrom, its first foray into wholesale. It plans to add another seven stores in 2019.
