In time for her company’s 10th anniversary, Tanya Taylor has opened a store on Madison Avenue.

The designer has secured a five-year lease for the 1,400-square-foot location, which is near such other fashion retailers as Veronica Beard, Gabriela Hearst and Vince. Located at 980 Madison Avenue, the boutique is also near two popular Upper East Side destinations — the Mark Hotel and the Carlyle.

Perhaps taking a page from other multitalented creatives like Christian Siriano, Taylor's store features an eclectic mix of items beyond apparel that she created. In addition to her designs, which are offered in sizes from 00 to 22, there is art, as well as curated jewelry, shoes and other objects from designers that Taylor herself has at home.

The offerings include items from Helle Mardahl glassware, Reike Nen footwear, Espelma candles and jewelry from Monica Sordo, Destree and Khiry. Another favorite resource is T. Line, a Canadian shirting company that was started by two former Holt Renfrew executives, Britt Barkwell and Alia Bissett, who are friendly with Taylor. As of Tuesday, opening day bestsellers included the Taylor-designed Hudson skirt, the denim Reina dress, the striped Cody dress and the Dutton knit in chartreuse.

There are also paintings for sale that Taylor created. Shoppers can also pick up vases and other decor.

The store's interior also has artistic inclinations. Taylor designed the space with Jessica Hyland of Hyland Studio, whose signature studio crafted the Khaite store and the Atelier Beauté Chanel, which are both in New York City's SoHo neighborhood. Hyland was also behind another Madison Avenue store, Alison Lou.

Created with what is meant to be a residential feel, the Tanya Taylor store has a fireplace and three rooms that wink at her preferred colors, textures and unexpected accents. There are custom paint colors by Farrow & Ball, a vintage bubblegum pink-colored cabinet that once belonged to Jenna Lyons, and bright yellow ochre upcycled Giancarlo Piretti chairs. Taylor became friendly with the former J. Crew creative director through the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2014, when Lyons was a judge and Taylor was a finalist. That was years before Lyons joined Bravo's reality show “Real Housewives of New York City.” The store's details of the space include two custom wood inlays that are reminiscent of a floral print used in a dress that Taylor designed for former First Lady Michelle Obama years ago for a naturalization ceremony, according to a company spokeswoman.

Taylor declined to comment on first-year projected volume for the Madison Avenue store. The company is exploring expanding into other markets where its business is strong. The possibilities of opening pop-ups stores and permanent locations in Florida, Texas and in Canada are “on our radar,” a spokeswoman said.
