LONDON — It's set to be a year of juggling for Jisoo, who's adding Self-Portrait to her portfolio of partnerships as the new face of the brand.

The Blackpink singer is already a Dior ambassador, appears in Cartier's Trinity Centenary Campaign, and is the face of Alo Yoga's spring 2024 collection.

On Wednesday, she'll appear in pink looks — with a dash of black — as part of Self-Portrait's spring 2024 campaign.

Han Chong, the brand's designer and owner, has a history of using famous actresses and models in his campaigns, but this is the first time he's picked a musician.

In an interview, he said it's high time, as he's been dressing Jisoo on- and offstage since 2017. He said the singer wore his designs when she released her solo album, “ME,” last year.

Musicians, he added, “have always been a part of the Self-Portrait story, and this was a natural progression. I also have a very diverse audience, and Jisoo is inspiring to my customer. She is a role model to so many, and I wanted her beauty, both inside and out, to be front and center of this first series of portraits we shot together in Seoul.”

Chong, who has collaborated in the past with women including Gigi Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Bella Hadid, Kate Moss, and Phoebe Dynevor, said he's long wanted to work with an artist “who could transmit the values we hold at Self-Portrait, and who represents the women we connect with globally, and I want to celebrate different women.”

This is the first time that Jisoo has worked with a contemporary fashion label, and it's also the first project since she launched her own agency, Blissoo, according to Chong.

In the campaign, she's pictured in dresses from the brand's spring 2024 collection, including a pale pink sequin minidress with black trim, and an orange and pink rhinestone- embellished style.

Chong said it wasn't easy to get Jisoo on board, given her other commitments, and he was relieved when she finally said yes.

During the shoot Chong said he wanted Jisoo to feel “super- comfortable. I brought outfit options to Seoul, and let her make the selection. We worked with her hair and makeup team, and did the shoot in the studio where she does her recordings.”

“I wanted to empower and respect her culture, so the whole team was Korean, and there was a very good energy on set,” added Chong, who tapped Yoon JiYong to shoot the images; Gee Run as art director, and Lee Mi Young for makeup.

Born in Penang, Malaysia, Chong studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins in London. He launched SelfPortrait in 2013, and purchased Roland Mouret's brand in 2021. He runs the two brands under the name SP Collection.
