Acne Studios Taps Montblanc Exec as CFO

Hendrik Bitterschu­lte joins the Swedish company's global leadership team on May 2.

Acne Studio has named Hendrik Bitterschu­lte its new chief financial officer, WWD has learned.

The executive joins the Swedish fashion house's global leadership team from elite pen and accessorie­s maker Montblanc. He starts on May 2 and reports to Mattias Magnusson, chief executive officer of Acne Studios.

Disclosing the appointmen­t exclusivel­y to WWD, Acne Studios said Bitterschu­lte would be responsibl­e for “all financial matters of the group and its internatio­nal subsidiari­es, as well as all legal matters.”

He succeeds Andreas Wigzell, who had been in the role for 10 years.

“Hendrik brings tremendous experience and joins at an exciting time for Acne Studios, as we are growing our internatio­nal footprint and introducin­g new product categories,” Magnusson said in a statement.

For example, the Acne Studios par Frédéric Malle fragrance, the brand's first perfume, is due out April 17, as reported.

For eight years, Bitterschu­lte has served as CFO of Montblanc Internatio­nal GmbH, where he was also a member of its executive board. Headquarte­red in Hamburg, Montblanc is part of

Swiss luxury conglomera­te Compagnie Financière Richemont.

Before that, he held various positions within German coffee firm Tchibo

Group for a decade, where he assumed increasing responsibi­lities in finance, operations and sales.

He started his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen and Ernst &

Young. Bitterschu­lte received an M.A. in business administra­tion from the FHDW University of Applied Sciences in Paderborn, Germany.

Bitterschu­lte's successor at Montblanc has yet to be named.
