Torqeedo’s Travel 603 weighs in at 34 pounds, delivers the equivalent of 2 hp, and has a 500-watt-hour lithium-ion battery that’s good for five and a half hours at low rpm. A GPS-enabled onboard computer displays vital metrics. The batteries are modular, allowing them to be swapped out. The Travel 603 ($2,000) comes with a 12- or 24-volt charger. Each battery has an integrated solar-charge controller.
