Burger boat co., known for motoryachts with a lineup that goes from 48 feet to 214 feet length overall, combined the utility of a sport-fisher boat with luxury appointments in its 63 Sportfishing Motor Yacht. As a custom shipyard, Burger can accommodate most any client request—and there’s plenty of space for owners to arrange this yacht to their liking. ¶ For starters, the fishing-focused cockpit and aft deck combine to make up 210 square feet of space. The interior space that includes a portside galley, salon and helm is 200 square feet. Moving forward, 18-inch side decks lead to a 90-square-foot foredeck with a settee. Up top, the flybridge has a two-seat, portside helm station and 225 square feet of space, with room for a 12- to 13-foot tender. Burger says owners can opt for a hardtop or any type of Bimini top to grant reprieve from the sun. ¶ Belowdecks are three en suite staterooms: a full-beam, amidships master; a twin-berth guest stateroom to port; and a forepeak VIP. Including heads, each stateroom is 165, 90 and

80 square feet, respectively. The master and VIP each have a king-size berth. To starboard in the master, there’s a sofa with a table to enjoy a quiet breakfast. ¶ Crew quarters for two in a 100-square-foot space are abaft the master and separate it from the engine room, helping to reduce noise forward. ¶ Notably, the 63 has eight portlights with bug screens throughout its belowdecks accommodations. There’s one in each en suite head, two in the master stateroom, one in the portside guest stateroom, and one in each crew cabin. There’s also a manually operated hatch with a screen for the forepeak VIP. ¶ The cockpit has real estate for a fighting chair, insulated in-sole fish boxes, a livewell, eight stainless-steel rod holders, and stowage lockers along the forward bulkhead. Teak decking is used throughout the exterior, including on the aft deck, cockpit sole, stairs to the cockpit and stairs to the flybridge. ¶ Standard power is triple 1,000 hp Volvo Penta D13-IPS1350 diesel engines. Top hop will reportedly be about 35 knots, and Burger says the 63 will cruise at 30 knots. These speeds are made possible by keeping the vessel relatively lightweight by using 5000- and 6000-series marine-grade aluminum in the hull, as well as Dutch yachtdesign firm Vripack’s Slide Hull form. ¶ Vripack patented the hull form back in 2016, and it has been used on previous Burgers. In addition to speed, this hull form helps with comfort in all sea conditions, handling and fuel efficiency.
