That’s the consensus of Vripack creative directors Bart Bouwhuis and Marnix Hoekstra on their awardwinning Steeler Panorama FF46 design. The radical new 48-footer (14.52meter) took the honors for European Powerboat of the Year at the 2015 Düsseldorf boat show. An international judging panel heralded the Vripack design in large part for its progressive one-level concept. The result was massive onboard living space for the 48-footer, which the judges deemed perfect for next-gen owners from DJs to IT specialists.
“That was actually the biggest compliment we could get,” said Hoekstra, whose firm has founded a trend-spotting platform called VriThink—a reference to free thinking—to identify global developments. “We analyze how these trends can be applied to the yachting industry, even predicting the color of 2016.”
Curious? You’ll have to pry that one from Vripack.
