try two horseshoe craft projects!

Spring is here and it’s time to do some spring cleaning … and maybe a little redecorating, too! You can bring the barn into your bedroom with these two horse-inspired DIY projects.

Horseshoe Jewelry Holder Materials:

Horseshoe Wood Nails Hammer Paint, wood stain or spray paint (optional)

Step 1: Find a small piece of wood. Sand any edges if needed. You can paint or stain your wood piece if you’d like (we used a darker stain) or leave it natural, which also looks awesome!

Step 2: Clean any dirt and rust off your horseshoe to make sure it’s safe to add to your project. You can hand-paint it to match your room, spray paint it with an adult’s help, or leave it as is. All will make for a supercute jewelry holder!

Step 3: Place your horseshoe on your wood piece. Hammer a nail into each hole. Make sure to leave the nail sticking out a little.

Step 4: With an adult’s help, hang your horseshoe holder (open side up “so the luck doesn’t run out”). Now it’s ready to hang necklaces, ribbons, keychains and more!

Framed Thumbtack Art Materials:

Frame (with glass removed) Cork board tiles Tape Scissors Fabric Gold thumb tacks Pencil Printout of a horseshoe (or your favorite horse silhouette)

Step 1: Cut your cork board tile to the size of the opening on your frame.

Step 2: Cut your fabric a little bigger than your cork board and wrap it around the cork board like you’re wrapping a present. Use tape to secure it in place and return it to your frame.

Step 3: Print and cut out a picture of a horseshoe or a horse and gently secure it to the front with tape. Trace with a pencil and then remove.

Step 4: Place thumbtacks along the line you traced and then use more thumbtacks to fill in your outline. It’s OK if they overlap! ∗
