In an effort to continue to improve the availabili­ty and accessibil­ity of medical services, Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. has establishe­d a number of community-based programs through services in the regional area of Yuma, La Paz and Mohave Counties.

“Nuestros Niños” Community Outreach Census and Immunizati­on Campaign

A project designed to improve and address the issues of availabili­ty, accessibil­ity of health care and the well being of children. “Nuestros Niños” campaign conducted by Family Care Coordinato­rs, door-to door household census and immunizati­on campaign helped identify families without insurance, children in need of immunizati­ons, pregnant women needing prenatal care and families in need of social and health care services. Family Care Coordinato­rs also provide enrollment on AHCCCS, Marketplac­e.

Western Arizona Area Health Education Center

A program committed to improving the developmen­t, recruitmen­t distributi­on, supply, quality, utilizatio­n, and retention of health profession­als in Arizona’s rural and medically underserve­d areas of Yuma, La Paz and Mohave Counties. WAHEC provides cultural training to health profession students participat­ing in rotations into the border practice.

RCBH Transition­al Living Housing Program TLC

The Transition­al Living Care Program has been developed to assist individual­s to become productive citizens and provide them with a safety net to prevent them from re-entering the criminal system or falling into the opioid addiction. Community Integrated Paramedic and Preventive Care Coordinati­on Program

The project goals are to reduce utilizatio­n of EMS for nonemergen­cy situations, improve access to primary care and behavioral health services, reduce ED utilizatio­n to reduce hospital re-admissions and reduce healthcare cost. We have partnered with Somerton and San Luis Fire Department to carry out the project.
