Vice President for Learning Services Dr. Linda Elliott-Nelson will present the action item for the board’s consideration at 9 a.m. Friday in the Francis Morris Boardroom in the college’s 3C building.

The meeting is open to the public, and those needing an accommodation to listen to the proceedings should contact the AWC President’s Office to make arrangements.

The public has the right to attend and observe the public meetings of governing bodies, but has no right to participate other than during the call to the public. Board members are prohibited by law from discussing, considering or acting on items raised during the call to the public. AWC limits individuals to a five-minute presentation.

The board will also hear reports from the Faculty Senate, the Classified Employee Association and the Student Government Association. The AWC Student of the Month will also be announced.

Human Resources Officer Kari Gardner will review the personnel reports, which include candidates for contractual positions and unfilled positions.

The board may also appoint a trustee to the Yuma Area Benefits Consortium and will consider approving a voucher. The board’s agenda did not include information about what the voucher is for.

Members of the president’s cabinet will give reports on their respective areas, including: learning services, public relations and marketing, student services, finance and administrative, and the AWC Foundation.

The board’s next meeting is at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 23, at the San Luis Learning Center.
