STEDY board to discuss financial oversight

JTED panel meets Monday

The Southwest Technical Educationa­l District of Yuma, Yuma County’s joint technical education district, will discuss its financial oversight and practices at its regular meeting Monday evening.

The session, which is open to the public, is slated for 5:30 p.m. at the boardroom of the Yuma Union High School District Administra­tion, 3150 S. Avenue A. The board may hold an executive session to obtain legal advice from its attorney on any matter listed on the agenda. Executive sessions are not open to the public; however, all decisions will be made in open session.

The board is set to hear several presentati­ons which include the engineerin­g program at San Luis High School and an update on bond projects at several Yuma Union High School District campuses. Board members may also give reports on activities they have attended and other subjects.

Superinten­dent Kevin Imes will report on JTED funding in the legislatur­e and give an update on Senate Bill 1525, including compliance requiremen­ts. Board members are also slated to hear a program report.

The board may discuss and take action on policy DK — Payment Procedures and exhibit DK-E — Payment Procedures Resolution, which would authorize the execution of warrants between board meetings.

The board may also discuss its strategic plan; discuss and possibly direct actions related to the Workforce Developmen­t Council; discuss reassignin­g county, type, and district codes, and site numbers (CTDS) from STEDY Desert View Academy Charter HS to STEDY Central Campus, and assign STEDY Desert View Academy Charter HS with a CTDS number of 140801012. CTDS codes and numbers are required by the state department of education.

Board members may also hear a first reading of a policy on travel and discuss the policy on compensati­on for unused accumulate­d sick leave, as presented by the administra­tion. The board may approve and ratify expense vouchers 1725-28; discuss finance oversight; and discuss its strategic plan.

As part of its consent agenda, the board will consider approving its Feb. 13 minutes and payroll vouchers.
