Pen-pricks

• French presidential candidate Emmanuel Mancon was reported Tuesday to have met his wife when he was a 15-year-old student and she was his 40-year-old teacher. They then began an affair. If elected, his fellow countryman Roman Polanski should be a shoo-in for Education Secretary.

• President Trump met with all one hundred U.S. senators in a private briefing on the worsening situation in North Korea. It’s Kim Jong Un vs. Donald Trump. Social media has made us all so narcissistic that the world could come to an end because two guys are always suffering bad hair days.

• Ivanka Trump was in Berlin doing a women’s panel with Chancellor Merkel. She was booed by the Germans for praising her father. Democrats who constantly compare Trump to Hitler are causing this reaction, and besides, the invasion of Canada was supposed to be a surprise.

First of all, I would like to thank the fire station in the Foothills for their expertise in handling emergencies and apologize for having to wake them up so early. I could not breathe and they immediately started working on me in their parking lot. By the time we reached the emergency room, I was much better.

Since the new ER and new additions have been made to the ER and hospital, I am sure many people have different opinions.

I was immediately put in a room and everyone collected information for their records. From then, until I left the hospital, I had wonderful care.

All of the nurses could not do enough for me. They didn’t wait for a call light to check on me, they occasionally popped in to see if I needed anything.

This is all an improvement compared to the way it was. I have had some pretty bad experiences in the past and was one of the procrastinators of the promises made for better facilities and care. I hope no one has to go to the emergency room or hospital but if they do, you will see great improvements.

Thanks for all involved in getting me to the hospital and everyone that was responsible for my care thereafter.

In December 2016, I had reason to be a patient at Yuma Regional Medical Center. The reason? Triple bypass surgery! I didn’t see that one

As an avid biker, I want to thank Mayor Nicholls and members of city council for their interest in bike safety in Yuma.

Thank you especially for your recent decision to construct a bike path on 40th Street from Avenue A to the existing bike path that parallels the canal and traverses the whole of Yuma for a distance of over six miles.

I foresee many benefits for south side residents who bike, hike, run, commute, etc.

Thank you again, Mayor Nicholls and city council.
