Z Fun Factory and Waylon’s Water World officially reopen
With the temperatures topping 100 degrees, it’s nice to know that Yumans young and old now have the option of taking a refreshing dip at the newly reopened Z Fun Factory and Waylon’s Water World, 4446 E. County 10th St.
The amusement park officially reopened on Saturday, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Aside from the water slides and pools, the facility also has mini golf, go-karts, arcade, batting cages, pirate playhouse, full-service restaurant and bar.
Just to review its history, a subsidiary of the company behind the famous Pac-Man video game now owns the park. As previously reported in this column, former owner Becky Zeller, who operated the Fun Factory for five years with her late husband Brice, handed over the keys to Hitoshi Yoshida, president and CEO of Namco USA, the Bandai Namco Group subsidiary based in the Chicago suburbs. For more information on the park, call 928-726-6000. *** On May 8, Bravo Chiropractic opened its doors at 250 W. 24th St., Suite O. Cosmetologist Marva Uriarte also just opened her own business, Marvella Beauty & Brow, at 656 W. 16th St. (at South 7th Avenue). Uriarte first entered the beauty business eight years ago, but in the last year she became certified in microblading through the Branko Babic PhiAcademy. Uriarte noted that microblading is the “most modern technique” available for brows. It is a form of semi-permanent tattoo that uses tiny needles to deposit pigment under the skin.
The new salon also offers services for everything related to hair, including coloring, extensions, keratin treatments, perms, makeup and styling updos. Uriarte works alongside friend and fellow cosmetologist Rocio González. They are currently offering discounts in honor of their grand opening.
