Fire House Facts
From July 9-15, the Yuma Fire Department responded to 239 emergency calls, including:
• 8 general fire response
Including: A small brush fire, an alley fire, an intentionally set house fire, and various alarms.
• 1 mutual aid
Including: Called to assist Rural/Metro with an emergency medical call in the county.
• 10 motor vehicle crashes
Including: 1 involving a rollover, 1 involving a bicycle, 1 involving a motorcycle, and 1 head-on crash.
• 198 other medical emergencies (serious to minor)
Including: 23 difficulty breathing, 17 chest pains, 25 falls, 10 unconscious people, 9 seizure cases, 7 possible stroke cases, 2 intoxicated persons, 1 drug overdose, 7 people with psychiatric problems, 3 heat illness/ dehydration, 3 medical alarms, 4 children locked in a vehicle, 1 allergic reaction, 3 choking cases, 18 altered or decreased level of consciousness, 2 broken bones, 3 diabetic emergencies, 9 man down calls, 5 bad headaches, 1 stabbing, 2 gunshot wounds, 5 assaults, 2 back pain, 7 abdominal pain, 1 pregnancy related, 3 deceased persons, 1 laceration, and other illnesses and injuries.

Including: 1 snake removal, 1 person stuck in an elevator, 4 small brush fires, 1 transformer leaking oil, 1 vehicle fire, 2 downed power lines, 1 illegal trash burning, 1 blown power transformer, and various alarms.
