District One board to discuss enrollment reports
The 20th day enrollment report set to be given Monday evening at the District One board meeting will give a more accurate picture of whether an uptick in attendance across many of its schools will continue.
District One’s governing board meets at 5:30 p.m. at the District One Administration Building, 450 W. 6th St. Enrollment reports are part of the agenda, according to materials distributed to local media.
Chief Financial Officer Dale Ponder will also update the board on the monthly budget situation and on bond projects within the district.
Board members will also hear about National School Lunch Week from Child Nutrition Director Lisa Thrower, recognize exemplary workers through its High Five program, thank donors for contributions to the district and schools, and hear from a district school. Student artwork will also be showcased and displayed in the board’s auditorium.
The board will also consider adopting a number of policies that were affected by changes in state law. Some of them pertain to board member qualifications, bus driver fingerprint cards, open enrollment, sunscreen and the dismissal of teachers working under short-term certifications, among others.
The board is also set to deal with its routine business such as ratifying vouchers, personnel actions, approving travel, accepting competitive grant monies, and other such matters.
The board reserves the right to call for an executive session for legal advice concerning any item on the agenda. A copy of the agenda background material provided to Board members (with the exception of material relating to possible executive sessions) is available for public inspection at Yuma School District One Administration Office, 450 W. 6th St. Those who need an accommodation to facilitate observing the meeting should contact the office prior to the meeting to make arrangements.
