Military Brothers ready to move stuff; new ACE Hardware opens in Somerton

-

The Hoey brothers are back in town and they’re ready to help their hometown neighbors move their stuff. Whether they’re moving across town or across state, Military Brothers Moving promise to get the job done. Their mother will make sure!

I spoke with Teresa Hooper, mother of six boys, four of whom served in the military and with one still active. Her sons graduated from Kofa and Yuma high schools.

Now in their third year of business, Kevin and Bryan Hoey, both of whom served in the Air Force, opened the first office of Military Brothers Moving in Sierra Vista, followed by another one in Tucson. Yuma is their third location. Teresa moved back to Yuma to manage this location.

“Isn’t it funny? I work for my sons!” she said.

The silhouette of five military men in uniform in the company’s logo is actually of the five brothers who have served.

Military Brothers Moving has special equipment to move specialty items, such as gun safes up to 18 pounds, pianos and hot tubs. The company is also fully insured and licensed.

The company offers full moving services, from packing to loading and short and long hauls. If customers have their own truck, they can also help pack it, which is sometimes the case with oneway trips.

The company gives discounts to active military and retired veterans. For a free estimate, contact Teresa at (520) 255-6507. It’s located at 415 W. Main St., at the site of the former Del Sol Market, which in November moved into a new 26,000-square-foot complex at 125 W. Main St., at the southwest corner of Somerton Avenue. I hear the new market has a real nice eating area with a full kitchen and tortilla factory.

But I digress … According to Hector Tapia, the city’s economic development director, the building has been remodeled to ACE Hardware’s specifications, including an outdoor garden.

A blessing ceremony was held Friday and the regular opening took place Saturday.
