During the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3, the Yuma Fire Department responded to 311 emergency calls for service, including:
17 General Fire Response
Including: An arson fire at an apartment construction site that spread to other homes and structures in the neighborhood, 3 stove fires, and various alarms
1 Mutual Aid
Including: Called to assist the Somerton Fire Department by backfilling a station
34 Motor Vehicle Crashes
Including: 4 involving pedestrians, 1 involving motorcycles, 3 involving rollovers, 1 involving a brick wall, 1 involving a sign, 1 involving a pole, 1 involving a bicyclist, 3 involving buildings, and 2 involving 3 vehicles,
242 Other Medical Emergencies (serious to minor)
Including: 24 for difficulty breathing, 27 for chest pain, 24 for falls, 19 for unconscious people, 10 seizure cases, 3 possible stroke cases, 5 drug overdoses, 13 for people with psychiatric problems, 4 for medical alarms, 2 for children locked in vehicles, 2 for choking, 18 for altered or decreased level of consciousness, 3 for fevers, 1 for broken bones, 9 for diabetic emergencies, 6 for man down calls, 3 for uncontrolled bleeding, 4 for bad headaches, 3 for assaults, 4 for back pain, 9 for abdominal pain, 1 pregnancy related, 2 for deceased persons, 1 for drug withdrawals, 2 for lacerations, 1 for a chemical exposure, and other illnesses and injuries
