P&Z panel to consider Ave. B request

City commission meets at 4:30 p.m. Monday

One of the Avenue B cases drawing objection from neighbors is on the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the Yuma Planning and Zoning Commission. The group will consider four cases beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Public Works Training Room, 155 W. 14th St.

The commission will hold public hearings on the following cases:

• Barry Olsen, on behalf of South Avenue B LLC, is requesting a General Plan amendment to the land use designatio­n of 5.9 acres, located at 1421 S. Avenue B. The applicant is asking to change the designatio­n from Medium Density Residentia­l to High Density Residentia­l. This is the second of two public hearings.

• Westar Plumbing Services is requesting a conditiona­l use permit to allow specific commercial uses in the Light Industrial District. The property is located at 780 E. 39th Place.

• Vega and Vega Engineerin­g, on behalf of TNNA Investment­s, is requesting rezoning from the Light Industrial/Infill Overlay District to the Low Density Residentia­l/Infill Overlay District of 16 acres located at 978 S. 1st Ave.

• Colvin Engineerin­g, on behalf of Terraces Business Park AZ, is requesting approval of the final plat for the Terraces West Subdivisio­n, which proposes 15 residentia­l lots ranging in size from 10,242 square feet to 40,586 square feet. The property is located north of Interstate 8, west of the Terraces Two at the View Subdivisio­n.
