Knox, Geraldeane 73, born June 9, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA, was called home January 23, 2018 in Yuma, AZ.

She grew up in Yuma, AZ, graduated from Arizona Western College, and then from Vanguard University, in Costa Mesa, CA in 1966. Following a mission in El Salvador, where she became fluent in Spanish, she served as a public school teacher in Winkleman. She then returned to Yuma where she taught children in grades K-8 in the Somerton School District.

Geraldeane positively impacted the lives of thirty teenaged girls, as a foster parent for both the Department of Economic Security and Yuma County Juvenile Court, over about fifteen years. She taught private piano lessons, and was an active member as a pianist, organist, choir director and Sunday school teacher at Yuma First Assembly, and Calvary Assembly in Winterhave­n.

Geraldeane found great joy in the bright life-quilt she made over many years with her sisters, brother, son, daughters, nieces, nephews, grandchild­ren, and beloved friends.

“Ger, Dina, or Miss Knox,” was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Clara Mae McAtee, sister, Nelle, and brother-in-law, Charles Kumley ll. She will remain close in the hearts of family and loved ones, Chris & Josie Gastelum, Clara, Joey, Christophe­r, Zachariah Dean, Arabella, Ruthey & Walter Philips, Esther & Don Schmid, Charles Kumley lll, James Kumley, Margaret & Phil Tilt, Jody & Linda Tilt, Ronny & Dorothy McAtee, Dailene Hubble, Ken McAtee, Rodney McAtee, Debbie & Bruce Aronson, Michelle Broussard, Lorrie & Tony Joyce, Sarah Lorton, Victoria Sierra,Roberta Schamber, and Cendy & Wendy Tanquary, along with many additional foster children.

Geraldeane will be remembered in a celebratio­n service on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Yuma First Assembly of God, 3000 S. Avenue B, Yuma, AZ 85364. with a word of encouragem­ent, and uplifting music. Dinner to follow at Calvary Assembly 465 S 1ST Ave Winterhave­n, CA 92283.
