Vehicle slams into Truck Mates

A local truck accessorie­s store sustained substantia­l damage after a vehicle collided with the facility late Saturday morning.

According to the Yuma Police Department’s news release, at approximat­ely 11:56 a.m. a black 2015 Chrysler 300 struck the north side of Truck Mates, located at 251 West 32nd Street.

Yuma police say the driver of the vehicle was a 23-year-old male who was crossing the intersecti­on on W. 32nd Street and Business Loop 8.

“He struck the median on W. 32nd Street which caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and collide with the building,” the release reads.

The release also shows that the driver was transporte­d to Yuma Regional Medical Center for precaution­ary measures.

No injuries were reported from inside the business.

Yuma police say neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in this collision.

This case is currently under investigat­ion.
