Bridges near Roll to close
Both structures will be rebuilt
East County drivers should plan for the temporary full closure of two Texas Hill bridges located on East County First Street north of Roll, beginning Monday.
The bridges are scheduled to be closed for the next several months, according to a statement from the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers should plan to use detour routes and allow extra travel time while these closures are in place:
• The bridge near Avenue 49½ E will be closed in both directions.
• The bridge near Avenue 54E will be closed in both directions.
Drivers traveling east or west of the bridges should follow posted detour signs.
Yuma County is scheduled to reconstruct both bridges, with completion scheduled for the fall of 2018.
Drivers should slow down, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices, and use caution around construction personnel and equipment, according to ADOT.
