First Take
Back in the first part of February when TV screens suddenly went blank, I thought Spectrum and Northwest Broadcasting would surely settle their cable dispute in time for us to watch the Superbowl.
Was that ever wishful thinking on my part.
Flash forward 2-1/2 months: we’re still not seeing any NBC or CBS programming on cable. That leads me to believe firmly that customers and viewers are the last people on the minds of the disputants.
Otherwise, cable subscribers would be seeing channels that they’ve been paying for as part of their packages. Otherwise, the city of Yuma wouldn’t have filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission against Spectrum.
The people at Spectrum and/or Northwest could say I’m not taking into account their positions.
No I guess not, not when they still can resolve their differences after 2-1/2 months.
Enough is enough.
