Billy Mendenhall shot a two-day gross score of 6-under-par 138 to win the Desert Hills Men’s 2018 Club Championsh­ip last weekend. The net championsh­ip went to Steve Schulte with a two-day total net score of 127. The three gross flight winners were Ron Wood (142), Mike Covey (158) and Jeff Buffmeyer (166). The three net flight winners were Shawn McKeown (135), Tony Zendejas (134) and Lowell Buck (134). The Saturday skin winners were Ron Wood, Peter Sterenberg, Steve Hobbs, Mike Van Allen, Rob Rutledge, Tony Deanda, Joe Lesniak and Steve Schulte. The skin winners on Sunday were Bill Mendenhall, Carlos Gallegos, Jeff Buffmeyer, Steve Hobbs, Henry Browning, Jeff Buffmeyer, Frank Ybarra and Sergio Lopez. The KP winners were Mike Covey, Daniel Durham, Lowell Buck, Gabe Rico, Steve Hobbs, Steve Stechman and Mark Pancrazi.

On April 5 the three gross flight winners in the ladies play at Mesa Del Sol Golf Course were Sandy Lee, Sue Morgenthal­er and Lorraine Breault. The three net flight winners were Carolyn Tainsh, Ann Weber/Betty Szmyrko and Sandy Blair. The skin winners were Ann Weber, Sue Morgenthal­er, Connie Donner, Sandy Lee, Louise Mabey, Phyllis Mashburn, Dorothy Gartner and Jeannie Browning.

Pam Brown won third low net in her flight in the Coachella Valley Women’s Golf Tournament that was played April 7-8. Phyllis Mashburn also won second low net in her flight. The KP winners from Yuma were Phyllis Mashburn and Lola Stone.

On Monday at the Foothills Par 3 Golf Course, the men’s league gross winners were Denny Young and Dale Palmershei­m. The net winners were Gary Dain and Keith Bigelow. The team winners were Al Smith, Jim Fly, Darryl Dupuis and Harold Hartman.

Bill Slade, George Alcorn, Bob Blair and Raymond Butler posted 81 pro points to win first place in the Can/Am play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Monday morning. Second place also with 81 points went to the team of Bill Griffith, Ron Cherry, Normand Berube and Terry Matthews. Raymond “Pinky” Throckmort­on, Bob Rehn, Clifford Weber and Ken McNeal were the third-place finishers with 79 team points. The deuce pot winners were Terry Matthews, Ron Stirler, Ken Givens, Garrett McKeeman, Mike Mikkola, Leonard Berube, Raymond Butler and Ron Cherry.

Lynn Barber, Deb Peterson and Connie Donner tied for first place net in the first flight of the Monday Ladies “Three Blind Mice” play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course. Sue Morgenthal­er was the second flight winner with Colleen Scott and Ann Weber tying for second. In the third flight, Jo-Ann Givens was the winner with Eunice Hoffman and Dona Conzelman tying for second.

On Tuesday at the Foothills Par 3 Golf Course, the women’s league gross winners were Sherry Sack, Geneil Wilson and Elaine Corbet. The net winners were Carol Gaskins, Lynn Ames and Sharon Dice. The team winners were Linda Wilder, Pearl Shreve, Carol Blake and Glenva Clark.

Dale Hoch, Evelyn Pribble, Cherrie Tillice and Dolores Vrooman posted a scrambling score of 5-under-par 67 to tie the team of Bill Barnhart, Frank Domantay, Carl Christense­n and Sandy Henson for first place in the weekly Moose Lodge play at Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s league gross winners were Brian Healy, John Cullen and Hubert Gartner. The net winners were Doug Anderson, Butch Ritten and Preston Manville. The team winners were Jack Joseph, Ron Gapp, Bob Wassenberg and Carl Fritz.

Trish Steffey and Karen Hitchens were the winners of the Desert Hills Ladies “Partner’s Relay” low net play on Tuesday morning. Second place went to the team of Diane Comeau and Tami Harmon. The KP winners were Trish Steffey, Gloria Gentry and Donna Lalonde.

Mike Mikkola was the top winner in the Mesa Del Sol “Pinky’s Pick” play on Wednesday morning with Al Johnson taking second and Ann Webber taking third. The remaining four winners were Bob Rehn, Hank Browning, David Givens and Garry Sletten. The skin winners were Raymond “Pinky” Throckmort­on, Bob Blair, Bob Rehn and Hank Browning.

On Wednesday at the Foothills Executive Golf Course, the men’s league gross winners were Frank Russell, Bill Taylor and Lee Estes. The net winners were Dave Aaberg, Will Schlepp and Roger Peterson. The team winners were Leon Peterson, Jack Schenck, Buddy Hartley and Larry Slocum.

Ken McNeal teamed with Jim Mitchell, Art Scott and Jack Henson to win first place in the weekly “Krogman Follies” play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Wednesday morning. Second place went to the team of Gordon Little, Bill Griffith, Norm Berube and Fred Hanoewicz.

On Wednesday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the women’s league gross winners were Loretta Schneider and Brittney Schneider. The net winners were Dawn Diamond and Laurie Russell.

In the Mesa Del Sol Men’s Wednesday Twilight League two-man combined net format, Bill Daily and Rick Anderson dominated with a 64. Dean and Brett Wolfe were second with a 69. Three teams tied at 74. Jerry Crump leads the Spring Points Race. Next week’s play is a twoman net combined total format.

On Thursday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s league gross winners were Hubert Gartner and Bill Taylor. The net winners were Chuck Scott and Phil Smith. The team winners were Brian Healy, Jack Joseph, Wayne Constantin­off and Fred Okerholm.

Hole-in-one congratula­tions are extended to Robin Gervais for his ace at the Las Barrancas Golf Course.

Shannon Mason was the first flight gross winner in the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course Ladies “Middle Holes” play on Thursday morning with Carolyn Tainsh winning the gross score division in the second flight. Pam Brown was the third flight gross score winner. In the net score division, Selma Cusick, Connie Donner and Sally Manley were the three flight winners. The skin winners were Shannon Mason, Mary Kruse, Sally Manley, Joyce Martin, Carolyn Tainsh, Jo-Ann Givens and Pam Brown.

Mike Pancrazi teamed with Gabe Ortiz, Tom Flitsch and Tom Rush to win first place in the Friday morning Hospice 2018 Championsh­ip at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course with a scrambling score of 59.44. Second place went to the team of Peter Sterenberg, Curt Priest, Al Bean and Bob Rehn with a 59.74. Last Saturday at the Country Club, the winning team was Shawn Mckeown, Jose Compos, Jeff Havins and Ty Cob with a second day score of 57.70. Last Saturday at the Country Club, the two-day total winning team was Shawn Mckeown, Jose Campos, Jeff Havins and Ty Cox with a two-day total score of 118.40. Second place went to Ray Face, Paul Follette, John Edgar and Sandra Havens with a two-day total score of 119.34.

Ann Weber won the first flight net division of the Monday Ladies O.N.E.S. play at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course on Monday morning with Selma Cusick, Sue Morgenthal­er and Marilyn Cotter tying for second pace. Darla Peterson was the second flight winner with Sally Manley taking second and Donna Brown taking third. Gina White, Donna Conzelman and Jo-Ann Givens tied for fourth place in the second flight.

Bill Griffith, Steve Parrish, Hank Browning, Ann Weber, Clifford Weber, Sam Samples and Bill Slade were the winning players in the Pink’s Pick play on Wednesday morning at the Mesa Del Sol Golf Course. The skin winners were Steve Parrish, Bob Blair, Pinky Throckmort­on, Mike Mikkola, Pam Herring and Jack Parker.

In the Mesa Del Sol Men’s Wednesday Twilight League two-man combined net format, Fernando Campa and Marty Tovaas shot 70 and won in a scorecard playoff. Josh Hodges and Jon Green were second. Joe Lesniak and a blind draw also shot 70 for third place. Jerry Crump has a narrow lead over Bill Dowding and Mike St. Claire in the Spring Points Race. Next week’s play is a two-man net best ball.

On Tuesday morning at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s league gross score winners were Billy Taylor, Hubert Gartner and Nat Sapach. The net winners were Mark Parks, Kelly Fredrick and Al Smith. The team winners were Rollie Harris, Harold Poppen, Larry Garrett and Fred Okerholm.

On Wednesday at the Foothills Executive Golf Course, the men’s league winners were Billy Taylor and Rich Ellis. The net winners were Conrad Eisenach and Chuck Mcneill. The team winners were Jeannot Levesque, Bob Lecorchick, Al Pittman and Phil Smith.

On Thursday at the Las Barrancas Golf Course, the men’s league gross score winners were Carl Fritz, Brian Healy and Larry Garrett. The net winners were Chuck Scott, Fred Okerholm and Mark Parks. Hole-in-one congratula­tions to Billy Taylor for his ace on third hole at Las Barrancas.
