Christian Gutierrez
U.S. Air Force Airman Christian Gutierrez has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San AntonioLackland in San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Gutierrez, the son of Maria and Socorro Gutierrez of Yuma, is a 2015 graduate of Cibola High School.
Kayley Melton
Kayley Melton, of Yuma, is a merit scholarship award recipient at the University of Minnesota Crookston.
A scholarship brunch was held for incoming merit scholarship recipients at the UofM Crookston in late March. Students learned about first year experience courses, financial aid, and registered for their fall semester classes. During the brunch, students were recognized followed by a campus tour.
