to our surprise, he was actually looking to host an outside music group. We feel fortunate to have this opportunity as a means to perform for our military. Additionally, the venue has wonderful acoustics, so we anticipate a wonderful concert experience for all.”
The Deseret Chamber Choir formed about three years ago with the aim to spread a message of faith through their music.
“DCC is comprised of singers of various backgrounds and faiths — singers for whom music is their vocation, and singers for whom music is their avocation,” Stroup said. “Despite the multi-faceted backgrounds of the members, DCC is united by a desire to perform quality literature and a desire to make positive contributions to our community and beyond.”
There will be two performances of “Then Sings My Soul.” The first will take place on Friday, May 4, at 7 p.m. at the MCAS Yuma Chapel, building 1176 on the corner of Shaw & Hart Street. The second performance will take place on Sunday, May 6, at 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1550 S. 14th Ave.
Those wishing to attend the performance at MCAS Yuma must fill out the MCAS Concert Registration form by April 30. It is a requirement to get on base. The concert registration form can be found at www.dccyuma.com.
