Support of friends, YRMC much appreciated

-

Friendship and helpfulness are two very positive attributes, especially when coming from people who you have only known for a very short time (few years or few days).

Someone once said that “helpfulness means trying to make life a little easier for other people,” while a friend is someone who knows all your faults and still likes you. Both quotes became abundantly clear on March 18 when my wife was admitted to the Yuma Regional Medical Center.

From the time of our arrival at the Emergency Department until being discharged on March 28, we received excellent treatment. Professionalism was top notch. Never have we seen the level of helpfulness anywhere. The large number of staff involved makes it impossible to mention anyone personally, so we use the blanket approach. (Thank you everyone.)

During this same period, our neighbors and friends continued to telephone, email or visit with offers to help where possible. It is hard to think of a more caring community. Both my wife and I offer our sincere appreciation to both groups.

For the past 13 years we’ve spent five and one half months in the Foothills of Yuma. During that time, we have met so many people who became instant friends. This friendship was on full display during the time of Eileen’s hospital stay.

We arrived back in Edmonton via air-ambulance and were transported directly to the University Hospital. Eileen continues to receive excellent treatment, and surgery is scheduled. We ask that everyone continue to pray for us.

Thank you all, God bless, HUBERT HONEYCOTTE (FAMILY) Yuma/Canada
