Why is this happening? Look for possible lessons

Why is this happening to me? Why am I the one always suffering? I don’t deserve this, I deserve better! These are questions we have all asked ourselves at one point or another. Reasonably speaking, we can say in the real world everyone has ups and downs and this is how life is, but how much of it is our bad decisions and choices which bring us bad consequences? And in turn making us dwell on the negative, causing us to feel depressed and unhappy or with a bad attitude toward others. What if instead of focusing on the negative, we focus on the positive, asking ourselves: What is this trying to teach me? Is there a lesson to be learned within this tribulation I am going through? Easier said then done, right? But it can be done. You just have to be optimistic, surround yourself with positive people so they may give you the confidence you are seeking.

Throughout my life I have met different people, from different backgrounds, cultures, personalities and traits. Some consider themselves experts at what they do, others are learning a new task or mission; regardless of the situation, all people have something new to learn, to share, to offer or to give. Nonetheless, people are always working hard to prove themselves right at what they do. This being normal may not always bring the satisfaction you may be looking for. This in turn may bring discontent and personal dissatisfaction. Trying to be the best is very different then being the best. We all try to be the best at everything we do; but doing the best is what really makes things happen. When we change the words TRY to DO, the mindset changes, and good things start happening in our lives. Try means to attempt, to give it a shot, and not necessarily making a change. Do means action, performance, achievement, and this is what we should aim for. This is what will bring the satisfaction to our lives.

Tips on how to focus on the positive

No one has ever said life would be easy, but that does not mean life has to be difficult either. The key thing is to think before doing, and thinking rationally is a must. Study the facts so you may have a perspective on all your activities; always keeping in mind bad things may happen, but the good will prevail because you will have to prove that it will. Remember, not every day will be great, but if you focus on the facts and a positive outcome, your optimism will triumph. As mentioned before, always surround yourself with positive people who will encourage you to make the right choices.

Change your mindset

It is all about choices! There are many books, stories, and movies written about how to live a good life; but it all depends on you and how you choose to live it. The main point is to change your mindset from looking for the next bad thing to looking for the next good thing. Force your mind to think of the good in your life and you will see your brain make that transition. It will be wonderful to see how much more good there is in your life than bad. Even some of the bad, if you think of it as “What is this trying to teach me?” “What lesson am I going to learn from this?” your mindset will change and you will be a much happier person. Try it, dare to change.
