Yuma police to join lip sync challenge
The Yuma Police Department will also participate in the nationwide law enforcement lip sync challenge, and a video of its performance will be posted to the department’s social media page in the near future.
Sgt. Lori Franklin explained that YPD has not been specifically challenged by any other law enforcement agency, but members of the community have been asking the department to do one for the past several weeks.
She added that after the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office was challenged last week, YPD starting getting tagged even more on social media about participating.
“We have been planning to do one, but now that YCSO has put out their video, the pressure is really on,” Franklin said. “Theirs was really good. I have to give them a lot of props.”
According to Franklin, no song has been chosen yet, but some ideas have been exchanged. There has also been some discussions about who could volunteer to participate in each of the scenes.
“We have some ideas, but I don’t want to give out any details,” Franklin said. “We also have several songs in mind.”
She went on to say that YCSO really set the bar high with its video, but YPD is looking forward to the challenge of making a video that is just as good.
