A Dickens Quality Demolition, LLC, hydraulic excavator (in photo at right) sits idle Monday near the “tin gym” at Kofa High School, which is in the process of being razed. The gym, which used to house the Kings’ wrestling room, weight room and indoor practice space, has been replaced by a new practice gym, constructed on the campus by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. Dickens Quality Demolition, LLC, is out of Phoenix. When completely demolished and the rubble removed, the space once occupied by the tin gym will be landscaped. Twisted steel beams — and an exercise rope — that were all once part of the “tin gym” at Kofa High School lie with other rubble (bottom left) as the practice gym is being demolished. A short distance from where the old “tim gym” is being demolished, basketball players practice inside Kofa High School’s new practice gym (bottom right), constructed by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.
